Well, yeah, if I go against you with you using a sword we're definitely going to want to make sure you're using a practice one. [ Sure with ki, it's possible to block a sword, but with the way all powers work she wouldn't trust that now even if she were sure she were strong enough. ]
...Though I guess that might depend on how much a practice sword would cost here. We might have to start with both of us doing hand to hand, then move on to you using a sword against me later.
[He just worries about his sparring partners, ok?]
I will have to see that, in the meanwhile we can start with hand to hand combat- even if I admit I'm not exactly good at it and you may have to be patient at first.
Another reason, mostly concerning about comfort. People were intruged by my normal form, though.
I've met a couple who are completely fine with me, regardless of which form I used. Still, I can't imagine every organic is comfortable holding hands with someone who is entirely metallic.
Yeah, I probably will at some point. Probably not going to be a good dancer, but it's not like any of the reasons that I avoided going to one matter here.
And yeah, a park's probably the best bet. Easier than trying to find a gym that's geared towards martial arts, anyway.
I understand that. I didn't really get around to finding a gym I like either. Though I guess I still have time, it's not like I can really make much training progress without a steady supply of Manna.
Yeah, basically. I have a couple of people I know here, but no one that I can say I know enough to be consistent about it.
Like, this guy named Riku offered to help me with that but that's mostly because I need Manna to show off my powers and we're both looking for sparring partners. Who knows how consistent that's going to be?
It would probably take up a lot of Manna to do anything too destructive. Besides, it's just training. I don't think we'll need to go all out just for that.
Well, I think we'll have a better idea on that after we train together and actually figure out the whole manna to powers thing. But yeah, we definitely don't need to go all out for training. Especially for our first sparring session.
[ ooc: I'm going to tweak this explanation so it makes the slightest ounce of sense in the real world and doesn't involve balls being knocked out of people. ]
oh, it's a kind of sport. you fight with these bats that have foam covering on them so nobody gets really hurt. the object is to hit your opponent and keep them from hitting you.
every time you strike them, they lose points. they can gain them back if they hit you the same number of times. so you have to make sure you always hit them more and dodge or block as much as you can. whoever has the most points remaining when the time runs out, wins. you can also win by taking all the other guy's points first.
[OOC: Yeah, do not blame you for that in the slightest. ]
Huh. That's a bit complicated compared to what I'm used to. Usually any point matches that I'm used to just award points, they don't take them away. It must be pretty hard for the judges to to keep track of who has how many points it the more even matches.

[At least she's amused, not annoyed. ]
But yeah, if we start with hand to hand stuff I'm not going to be too annoyed if I end up teaching you more than getting a decent workout.

[That's definitely a plus.]
I'd be absolutely down for it, miss. When and where would you like us to meet and start?

Okay, so you could've changed it if you wanted, but just left it as that. Seems simple enough, I guess.
Do you have to use that projection often?

Are people just weirded out by your normal body, or is there another reason for that?

From what I heard, nightclubs can be pretty fun. I've never been to one, so you have me beat on something here.
How about some time later this week for sparring then?

[Blame it on the ravers and their Samurai dance.]
Sure, I'd like that. Would one of the parks around here work?

And yeah, a park's probably the best bet. Easier than trying to find a gym that's geared towards martial arts, anyway.

What does a gym have that open space doesn't?
[Is it a building specifically for training? Are there weapons there?]

I'm doing alright. We can pretty much meet up whenever you want, I haven't really settled into any routine yet, so my time is mostly open.
