they've probably been doing it for a while. there's a big tournament every year. the trophy is really impressive.

So is there just the big tournament as far as official matches go or are there other official matches?

[terribletwos]

well, there's preliminary matches to decide who's going to be in the tournament. those usually happen a few days before.

Well... I'd still really count that as part of the big tournament. It's not like tournaments need to happen only in one day.

in that case, there aren't really any official outside matches. just ones we use to practice for the big one.

Maybe once you get back home you should try to see if you could change that? I mean, sure, big tournaments are nice, but smaller ones could help make the whole... well, sport I guess, get bigger.

i don't know. i kind of like the way it is. it's special to twilight town.

[ And someone is always knee-jerky about big changes. ]

Oh, it's just a local town thing. Okay, it not having more than one tournament makes a lot more sense now.

yeah, i don't think i've ever seen it in any of the other worlds i visited.

I mean, you just said it was a local town thing. It not being on other worlds isn't really that much of a surprise in that case.

i only realized it was local after remembering about my visits to other places.

...So how many other worlds have you been to, anyway?

[terribletwos]

twilight town. neverland. halloween town. wonderland. the beast's castle. agrabah. the keyblade graveyard. destiny island.

with the former hq that would make 9.

Okay, that's a lot of worlds.

But, uh, why is the first one called "twilight town" if it's a world?

there's two of those actually. twilight town and halloween town. it's just what they're called.

Is that what the worlds are actually called though? Or are they just the only places on those worlds that you've been too?

[terribletwos]

i've never heard them referred to as anything else. they're a lot different from a place like this though.

Huh. That's really weird.

I mean, not that they're different from here, that makes sense. I'm just really surprised that they'd name a world after a town or call a town a world or whatever is actually going on.

i've noticed the worlds i'm familiar with are different from places people here are familiar with. like the way a lot of other people have two names. most of the people i know only have one.

Where I'm from most people only have one name too, actually. Having two names used to be pretty common, but having family names died out at some point for some reason.

so they just decided to stop doing it. i wonder why.

i'm not sure if people in the worlds i know ever had more than one.

That's a very good question. And one that I'm kicking myself for not thinking of trying to find an answer to. People stopping that really doesn't make much sense, there's plenty of people on my world to make having a family name still make sense.

Several decades ago, probably. I don't actually know when it happened for sure.

weird. but there should still be people around who might know.
